Mediterranea17, Young Artists Biennale, Milan 2015

No Food'a Land - Black Monochrome was exhibited in Mediterranea 17, Young Artists Biennale, No Food's Land, Milan, Italy

No Food's Land - Black Monochrome is a painting made of a grid of circles and squares painted in
layers in black glossy household paint. The excessive reproduction of the same shape and colour
reflects the artist's obsession/habit with repetition. Seen as either virtuous (of patience) or vicious
(superfluous and/or unsound), the artist retreats into a ritual towards a kind of order in contrast to a
mundane/chaotic outer world. Nevertheless it is a process that leads to 'nothing'. The result of the
painting is one of little reference to worldly 'material'. The minimalism and subtlety of the visibility
of the shapes feeds very little or 'nothing'.
